Happy new year everyone. 2014 is already flying by. Every time I think about how fast the days fly by, I think it can’t go any faster and then I blink and say, “what happened to January?”. Optimism fills the air. Everyone I speak with reports they had a good 2013 and expect bigger and better things in 2014. We are very fortunate here in North Texas, there is a lot of work to go around. Hopefully all of us in CSI are rewarded in 2014 for all of the tough times we had to endure the past few lean years. Half of the fiscal year for our chapter is in the books. We had some great speakers at our meeting in the fall and had a great finish to 2013 with our Holiday Party. We had a great turnout and the casino night format continues to be a big hit. We were able to donate a lot of toys to Santa’s Helpers and we plan to be able to build on that in years to come. Thank you to everyone who came out and especially to our sponsors and to the volunteers who organized the event. Coming up around the corner is the UTA Building Science Expo. We hope that this will be another great event for Dallas and Ft. Worth CSI and AIA to come together and meet with some of our future peers in school at UTA. Energy Performance of Buildings is the topic and we have a great panel of speakers this year. For your 2014 New Year’s Resolutions I hope you penciled in to get more involved in our industry and CSI is a great way to do that. We can always use more volunteers to help provide great programs and fellowship for our members. I look forward to seeing you at UTA and at our meetings coming up this spring.
